Why Buy a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Instead of a 2022 Lexus NX

July 20 2022,

Why Buy a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Instead of a 2022 Lexus NX

The Mazda CX-50 is the most rugged and powerful member of the compact SUV family. But it is also the most refined one. Its interior is more comfortable and more advanced than most luxury compact SUVs out there, making it a great option for families looking for a do-it-all family hauler that can go anywhere.

Here, we take a look at why you should buy a Mazda CX-50 instead of a Lexus NX.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is all about performance

Performance is important in a compact SUV, and Mazda has mastered the art of performance for ages. Under the hood of the CX-50, you will find a choice of two engines. The first one is a four cylinder, naturally aspirated engine that outputs 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is plenty of power and torque to zip around town or take on the trails. The second choice is a turbocharged version of this engine that can output up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, which is more torque than any of the Lexus NX’s engines.

This makes the CX-50 superior in terms of accelerations, but also drivability thanks in part to the fact that all CX-50’s engines are mated to Mazda’s i-Activ AWD system, which is much more advanced than the Lexus NX’s system in all driving conditions.

Need to tow a boat or an ATV? The Mazda CX-50 can tow up to 3,500 lb of anything you put behind it. The Lexus NX is a much less capable SUV; it can only tow 2,000 lb.

The CX-50 is also much more rugged than the NX, thanks to a better ground clearance, heavy-duty body cladding and Mazda intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) technology that includes a set of drive modes tailored for any road surface.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is more affordable and more refined

While the CX-50 might be classified as a mainstream compact SUV, its interior refinements are superior to that of most luxury compact SUVs. What’s more, the CX-50 is more affordable than the NX thanks to a low starting price of $37,900 compared to $47,400 for the Lexus NX.

In the end, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 has better drivability, capability and provides a better overall driving experience than the 2022 Lexus NX. Come see us today! You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
