The 2023 Mazda3 will be more efficient and will have more power

The 2023 Mazda3 will be more efficient and will have more power

The 2023 Mazda3 is set to arrive on the market this fall in the Sport hatchback form while the sedan will follow little bit after. Mazda announced the starting price of its 2023 Mazda3 lineup earlier this month while also giving us a glimpse into a few improvements that have been made to the popular Mazda compact sedan.

2023 Mazda3 Pricing

For starters, let's look at pricing. The 2023 Mazda3 starts at $21,600 for the sedan and $22,600 for the hatchback. Across the lineup, the hatchback is always $1,000 more than the sedan. All-wheel drive will continue to be offered in the 2023 Mazda3 lineup, with a starting price of $27,900 for the sedan and $28,900 for the Sport hatchback.

Moreover, Mazda returns in 2023 with the impressive GT Turbo version and its impressively powerful 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque with premium fuel. Paired with all-wheel drive, this version delivers performance worthy of much more expensive luxury vehicles.

The 2023 Mazda3 will come standard with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 155 horsepower along with 150 pound-feet of torque, and it will also be offered with an improved version of the popular 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine.

This engine promises to deliver a remarkable 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. That is a slight increase in overall performance compared to the current engine, but the most significant improvement can be found in the fuel economy. This powertrain indeed delivers an impressive average fuel consumption rating of just 6.4 L per 100 km on the highway and a combined fuel consumption rating of just 7.6 L per 100 km. No doubt about it, this is one of the most powerful engines in the segment, but also one of the most efficient.

The 2023 Mazda3 will continue to be offered with a long list of standard features that includes I-Activesense driver assistance technologies, the full suite of Mazda Connected services, Mazda Connect infotainment system with a centre 8.8-inch screen, and more.
