Genuine Mazda Battery Replacement with Free Replacement Warranty!

Scarboro Mazda's Battery Centre!

July 16 2020, Scarboro Mazda

Genuine Mazda Battery Replacement with Free Replacement Warranty!
Backed by Mazda's 24 month free replacement warranty and an additional 3 years of prorated coverage!

How long does a car battery last? Is there anything I can do to prolong the life of my battery? How do I know when I should replace my battery? - We will cover the answers to all these questions!

Download The Mazda Battery Centre Brochure Here!

Your Mazda's battery is one of the major component that helps power up your vehicle and electrical system! Similar to all batteries, there are factors that can cause your battery to weaken and fail and knowing the signs of a weak battery can help prevent you from being stranded!

Factors that Affect a Battery:

  • Age
The average life of an automotive battery in Canada is 3 to 5 years (driving conditions, weahter and lack of care can shorten lifespan of a battery)

  • Hot Temperatures
Contrary to popular belief, it's excess heat, rather than cold which damages batteries

  • Cold Temperatures
Although it's heat that damages batteries, cold temperatures limit the amount of power a battery can generate

  • Low Mileage Driving
Driving too many short distances limits alternator charging

  • Lack of Regular Battery Maintenance
Corrosion of the battery terminals puts strain on the battery

Learning the signs of a low or malfunctioning battery can help prevent being stranded with a dead battery (especially during the cold weather where batteries don't perform as usual)!
Fact: a battery with low charge can lose up to 40% of its performance in sub-zero temperatures!

Signs of a Low Battery or Malfunction:

  • Dim Headlights
  • Clicking sound when you push the START/STOP ENGINE button
  • Slow cranking sound when starting the engine
  • Corrosion/acid build up on the battery or terminals
  • Warning light is on the instrument cluster
  • Car won't start after sitting overnight
  • Battery looks swollen, plump (this indicates that there has been a chemical reaction within the battery and it is very unsafe to drive with! Please get your battery changed as soon as possible!)

If you're starting to see these signs, you can take your vehicle to a Mazda Dealership (Hello!) to get a Mazda Battery Service or replace your battery with a Genuine Replacement Mazda Battery.

Insist on Mazda Quality:

What exactly happens during a Mazda Battery service? Our Factory-Trained Technicians will perform a battery test using a Mazda battery analyzer and diagnostic charger, or with a Midtronics handheld system.

Mazda Battery Service Procedures:

  • Preliminary Inspection
  • Then we Perform a Computerized Battery Load Test
  • Electrical system test (if required)*
  • Battery Test Results
After the test, our analysis includes the battery state-of-health (SOH) and state-of-charge (SOC).

*Additional costs may apply.

Here are some simple steps you can do to maintain your battery and keep it healthy! Always remember to wear protective equipment!

  • Drive your vehicle frequently and for extended periods to keep your battery charged!
  • Keep your battery tightly fastened and check all the terminals and screws to ensure they are clean and free of rust
  • Inspect the battery tray for signs of physical damage
  • Take your battery out of your vehicle if you don't drive your vehicle in the winter
  • Test your battery frequently
  • Refrain from using electronics (radio, air con.) when your engine isn't running. Extended periods of idling can also wear your battery

Here at Scarboro Mazda, we are committed to ensuring that your battery is in good electrical condition! If you have any questions regarding your vehicle's battery and health, speak to our Mazda Service Experts today!
